A decade ago the Derby Rock Festival was held at the Derby Racecourse.  The event was hailed as a winner and a repeat performance was scheduled for the following year.  This was the birth of the Kimberley Moonrise Rock Festival.

The first live CD of the legendary event was pressed in 1996.  This wonderful platter that you now behold is CD number 8.

News of Moonrise is spreading fast.  This year we were blessed with an Irish Angel in Alyanya, a blues singing Kiwi in Raymond Te Amo and the usual blow ins from Melbourne and Perth in Carus Thompson and Dave Johnson.

This year we say goodbye to one of our major sponsors in Western Metals who have decided to hang up the pick and shovel.  Thanks guys for six years of great support.

So sit back and relax, grab a beverage and enjoy the wide scope of homegrown Kimberley music on another Moonrise masterpiece.

Thanks to Bob Parsons and Pacific Transport for the stage, John Devenny, Derby Turf Club, Lindsay Lovering from Healthway, Derby Boabs Golf Club, Rod Giblett, Rambo for security and Captain's Cranes.

See you all again next year on June 4 and 5, 2004.
